Ben Hop attended North Miami Beach Senior High School in Miami after moving there from Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York. He attended North Miami Beach Senior High School, where he developed a passion for hip-hop music and DJing. 

He began spinning records at the ALL STAR CAFÉ on South Beach for promoter and former dolphin player Louis Oliver. After that, Ben Hop's DJ career took off and he started getting bookings throughout South Florida. He eventually rose to prominence as a DJ on Miami's Hot 105 FM, mixing music for the midday lunch crowd and the five o'clock afternoon drive.

In 2014, Ben Hop, along with his business partner Angela Rene, started Excitement Radio, Inc., an internet-based radio station. Their mission with the station was to Educate and Entertain you through the freedom of Speech, Expression, Music, and Culture. In July of 2017, Shai Will became Ben Hop’s new business partner at Excitement Radio.

Ben Hop has a radio show, “The Best Kept Secret” featured artists of all genres from all over the world. You can currently listen to the live show every Monday from 7 PM to 9 PM Eastern Time on Excitementradio.com. Additionally, Ben Hop does a podcast called “The Community Corner” where he interviews local business owners, entrepreneurs, and leaders of the community about issues that are important to our neighborhood. All of the main streaming platforms are home to those episodes. You can always find Ben Hop DJing or live on Excitement Radio.
